First day on the water 2009!

Well, I'm finally posting another fishing report...been too long.

A friend and I went fishing yesterday, on the first full day of spring. Instead of going to
the creeks a friend and I went to my aunt and uncle's farm ponds (due to an enormous hole in
my waders). It was cold, 34 degrees when we got to the ponds. After being there for an hour or so, and freezind our butts off, we finally got some hits. All said and done we caught three large mouth and one crappie (not mentioning a few fish we missed). The first fish of the year was 3-4 pounds! Not bad! Turned out to be a good day! The bass are biten!

My first fish of the year! Around3-4 pounds! on a black buck hair jig, with a watermelon grub trailer.

Little-ol crappie on a rooster tail.

J.P.'s first bass of 2009, not a bad start.

Another nice bass before the day ended. On the black Buck hair jig again. A FATTY!

Thanks so much for your nice comments!!!
I'd like to be fishing for our land locked salmon this weekend but kids and life dictate otherwise.
I enjoyed your art, too!
Thanks again,
Donna

OH! So you are an artist AND a fisherman! I want to introduce you to a young man who I HOPE you will become acquainted with...I will tell him about you, too! His name is Chris Johnson, and he seems to be about your age. He owns a fly shop near me. I taught him art long ago and he is trying to do a little more on the side. Very talented like you. Here is his info. I will also give him yours! Best to you, and THANK YOU for the comments about my work. Please stay in touch
